My boat will not get on plane with out someone standind on the front iwant to know what i can try. i do have a plate. - answered by a verified marine mechanic. hi, i have a 1994 mercury 200 efi and it won't come out of the hole.. My first thought would be to have your outdrive or transmission checked. the 'trim" is usually what helps the boat plane up out of the water. you want the trim all the way down when starting up, then as you pick up speed, gradually bring the trim up to help push the boat forward and plane out.. With two guys in the boat, no other gear besides a battery and 30lb thrust stern mount trolling motor, and a 3 gallon gas tank this boat won't plane out. it almost gets there but not quite. i've tried it with on person, no trolling motor and only a gallon of gas in the tank and it makes no real difference..
I have a mercruiser 4.3l that won't plane out. runs great on land but boggs under a load. carb is a edelbrock 4bbl (new 2 yrs ago). but when under load it seems much weaker and won't get up and plane. when going from fwd to neutral i have a 1986 johnson 110 outboard. when we accelerate to get boat up on plane it doesn't always go. it. My outboard will not plane out the boat...? have changed the plugs and had carbs cleaned. replaced wires and still boggs out when you open the throttle. have changed all the filters and the fuel lines. the motor is an evinrude 115 v4. an 89 model. has been recently overhauled about 2 yrs ago.. Me and the old man went to ouachita today for some much needed fresh air and i'm sure he needed a break from his ol lady. after a few hours i told him.
